Great Bear Photo Tour led by Mike Willie & Yuri Choufour (Limited to only 6 spaces)

Do you want to travel to the last great temperate rainforest on earth, & immerse yourself amongst the incredible wildlife that call this land home? In early October, join Mike Willie & Yuri Choufour, for a brand new tour offering in the southern reaches of the Great Bear Rainforest. Mike’s intimate knowledge of the wildlife, culture & people, coupled with Yuri’s background teaching photography workshops around the world, promises to deliver a once in lifetime experience. For the passionate photographer & traveler, who revels in experiencing the natural & cultural history of the Great Bear Rainforest, this is what you’ve been looking for.

Mike Willie (owner of Sea Wolf), has traveled the waters of the Broughton Archipelago (the route to his home) since early childhood. He is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of his traditional culture and language and devotes his spare time to research and spending time with Elders. Mike is passionate about sharing historical information and traditional knowledge as a speaker, multi-media producer and teacher. From a young age, Mike learned the songs of his ancestors and is an active song keeper and composer. He is respected as a leader of ceremonies in the village bighouse and a young speaker striving to become fluent in his critically endangered language. In 2014, Mike founded Sea Wolf Adventures as a way to share the wonders of his traditional home with people from all over the world.

Yuri Choufour is a Canadian nature & travel photographer, who’s been fascinated with the natural world since early childhood. After obtaining a diploma in professional photography, and an award for photojournalism, he completed an internship with the Calgary Herald. In 2010 he sought out assisting opportunities with Art Wolfe Inc. & found world travel and teaching photography to be some of his true callings. Choufour is most driven to create images that cultivate a greater appreciation for the natural world. His photos are sold to galleries, tourism companies, as fine art prints, and cards/calendars. His first book projects are in the works. He also shoots a diverse array of video assignments for various clients. Yuri travels for a large part of the year, teaching photography in the polar regions, and across North America. He has taught at over fifty photo workshops to date, & though a Nikon shooter himself, is also very adept with Canon DSLR’s, and an expert with Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. Yuri feels very lucky to call British Columbia home.
